BRIEF: To create a modern garden for entertaining, relaxation and periods of extended abscence.
DESIGN RESPONSE: The garden is bias toward hardlandscaping to reduce maintenance and has bold blocks of repeated easy to maintain planting. We used a smooth graphite coloured paving contrasted with rendered walls painted off white to pick up on colour themes and details within the house. The walls form informal seating for larger parties.
The rill has a pair of smooth matching pots at either end and is flanked either side with hardwood deck and granite kerb detailing. The dominant hardscaping and boundary wall is softened with an avanue of six Prunus 'Amanogawa' and bold blocks of underplanting bring spring and summer colour. Climbers will further soften the boundaries once established.
