BRIEF: To design a family orientated garden with visual interest and lots of play space. An orchard was requested for the far end of the garden. The clients were keen to explore a more modern planting style to reflect the internal decoration of the house.
DESIGN RESPONSE: A large expanse of lawn had to be integrated into a long thin garden, so the borders were designed to take up minimal space whilst still screening the boundary with grasses and climbing plants. A summer house with deep planting beds was used to create a strong focal point and to partially divide the garden without obsuring the views to the bottom. The orchard was planted at the bottom of the garden. We also designed the front to replicate the desired style.
