BRIEF: To design a traditional garden with an emphasis on herbaceous planting to encompass a pool and creation of various seating areas offering different of the views of the garden from within and also from the house.
DESIGN RESPONSE: We created a series of garden ‘rooms’ using a custom made, painted trellis system centred upon a formal pool. A cirular walk around the garden through a pergola arch takes you on a journey. The vertical structures halp to distract the eye from the dominant adjacent houses and focus the attention within the garden space. The predominantly herbacous planting was selected for summer colour and a very relaxed traditional feel.
