BRIEF: To create an informal family garden with a greater area for play and more useable space.
DESIGN RESPONSE: Due to the steeply sloping nature of the site, we used a cut an fill technique and terraced the garden using oak timber sleepers laid flat and set vertically. These timber walls give a softer feel to the garden than perhaps brick would and tied in with the existing large decking area. The planting is designed for mixed colour and ease of maintenance.
